| About Us The President of the Center for Literacy through Indigenous Teachings is Cecilia J. Myrick, Ph.D. She has been teaching literacy for 25 years. Currently, she is an Associate Professor/ Reading Specialist in the Curriculum and Instruction and Testing Services Departments at Fort Valley State University. She researches the impact of the following topics on the development of reading, writing, and visual literacy. Critical Literacy, understanding the historical roots and consequences of one's values and beliefs and the values and beliefs of others.
