Mission The mission of the Center for Literacy through Indigenous Teachings (CLIT) is to promote cultural transformations and to promote cross-cultural connections through engagement with texts.   Through research, training, and instructional materials, the center seeks to facilitate self- empowerment of diverse people who are invited to explore their ethnic identities, histories, and roots, and are invited to discover the consequences of their cultural values and beliefs on themselves and others.
